Queen’s Most Embarrassing Cousin Who Had Hurt the Image of Royals

Five times when Princess Michael let the royal family down.

The modern-day Royal family is no stranger to controversy and scandals. One, in particular, Princess Michael of Kent, has been the source of embarrassment for the Queen and the Royal family countless times.

Born in 1945, Princess Michael is a member of the British Royal Family. She is the wife of Prince Michael of Kent, the grandson of George V and also the first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II.

Famous for her arrogant behavior and boastful comments, this Princess is given many nicknames by the Royal family, including Pushy Princess and Rent a Princess.

However, all this negativity about her doesn’t mean she is not genuinely royal. Princess Michael’s lineage can be traced back to French Kings and Queens, coupled with Hungarian and German nobility.

Her father, Günther von Reibnitz was a member of the Nazi party and after the Princess’s parents divorced, she moved to Australia along with her brother and mother, where she lived until she got married to the Prince.

She got married to Prince Michael of Kent with her real name, Marie Christine, in 1978. However she had to change her character despite her noble bloodlines because she wasn’t born royal.

1. Racist Mumble At A Restaurant

Princess Michael allegedly passed some racist comments while dining in a restaurant in New York City in 2004.

The Princess told a group of five Black people who were dining in the same restaurant to go back to the colonies. Why? Those Black diners were being too loud for a member of a Royal family.

The Princess made these racist comments while shifting to another table. However the Princess denied these allegations, claiming she did not say ‘back to the colonies’.

Rather, what she actually stated was to remember the colonies as much more manners existed back in those days.

The problems caused by the incident didn’t end even after her denial, and the Princess kept talking about the event long after the incident.

However, it was not long before the Princess again spoke about the racist incident that took place in a restaurant.

In an interview, the Princess gave one of the strangest excuses, claiming she should never be called racist.

Because apparently, once she dyed her hair black and pretended to be a half-caste African, but her light-coloured eyes made it hard for her to get away with it.

Furthermore, she stated of having spent a lot of time in Africa and with its adorable and extraordinary people.

The Princess thought that the people would buy this lame excuse of hers — spending some time in Africa gave her any right to pass on these racist remarks?

2. Horrifying Story Of Her Black Sheep

After all these years, we thought that the Princess must have had enough of her haughty behaviour, but that is not the case.

One of the most recent and horrifying allegations against the Princess of Kent came from an ex-boyfriend of the Princess’ daughter, lady Ella.

Her daughter’s ex-boyfriend claimed that the Princess had two black sheep at her Gloucestershire mansion that she called Serena and Venus, and they were named after the two tennis legends, Serena and Venus Williams.

This allegation didn’t bring any good to the Royal family, and when we think about it must have been alarming for Meghan Markle because she is a perfect friend of Serena Williams.

3. Her Controversial Statement About Diana

The Princess’s feud with Meghan Markle was not the first one and certainly not the first time that the Princess Michael of Kent turned green with envy.

The Princess was also rude to Princess Diana, who was beloved by all and called the People’s Princess.

In an interview that she gave in 2014, Princess Michael talked about how close she was to the late Princess of Wales while she was living in Kensington Palace.

While talking about Princess Diana, Princess Michael explained that people with little education when find themselves as a film star or a pop star, suddenly getting admired by the whole world, then things get unmanageable. It is tough to cope with accolades, especially if one doesn’t have a strict mother for a good brought up nor much education.

These remarks must have hurt all those who loved the late Princess Diana, in and outside the Royal family.

4. The Older Royals Are Boring Well, According To The Princess

If we look deeper into the incidents that the Princess has been involved in, we see a pattern in which she first says something extremely disrespectful or racist and then tries to justify or clarify it with her absurd excuses.

Princess Michael once said that the older members of the Royal Family are boring for most people and she said it knowing that her nickname is Pushy Princess.

Claiming to be anti-social, Princess Michael stated she does not go out that much. Furthermore, she said her nickname Pushy Princess always comes up, even when there has been no reported incident of her pushing anyone.

The Princess said that people believe that she pushed her way into the royal family, thought she refused to marry the Prince for years.

Erm… if you recall, Princess Michael married Prince Michael exactly one month after her first marriage was declared invalid.

5. Very High Thoughts When It Comes To Her Children’s Education

Like any mother, the Princess is also very proud of her children. However, the Princess took things a bit too far while singing her kid’s praises.

Her daughter, Lady Gabriella, studied at Downed House, Brown University, and Linacre College, Oxford.

While, Princess Michael’s son Lord Frederick did, get his education from the Eton College and Magdalen College, Oxford.

However, the way that the Princess talks about her children is something that doesn’t suit a royal.

The Princess’ obsession with her children’s education can be felt in her statement, which she gave in a very arrogant manner, the Princess claimed there are no children in the Royal Family who have been educated and got such good degrees as her children.

However, her importance can be seen when Lord Frederick got married in 2009, a wedding which any higher ranking Royal did not attend.

The highest-ranking Royal who was present at the wedding was Princess Eugenie, who is 9th in line for the throne.
