Quarantine Routine

Start your morning off right.

During this time of quarantine, it feels like scheduled, structured days are a thing of the past. Many of us are staying up way too late, and pressing the snooze button one too many times.

While it may feel good to indulge in a morning of sleeping in, a lack of a consistent routine can zap productivity. Get yourself back on track, and set yourself up for success, by incorporating these simple steps into your morning routine.

Hydrate

Kickstart your metabolism with a tall, cool glass of water. While it’s tempting to reach for a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, your body needs to refuel with non-diuretic liquids.

Journal it Out

Set aside 10 minutes in the morning to get your thoughts and feelings down on paper. You can take this time to unload any worries you have, to make a plan for the day, or — my personal favorite — write down a couple affirmations.

Meditate

Take a moment to center yourself in the morning. New to meditating? There are plenty of apps out there, such as Headspace or Calm, which offer guided meditations that are perfect for beginners!

Indulge in a Creative Endeavor

Imagine working on a project for just 30 minutes a day — do you know how much you would get done in a month? At times, it can feel like the day disappears before we get to work on any of our own projects. By sitting down to create — be it writing, painting, sketching — you will generate a sense of accomplishment, which will stay with you throughout the day.
