Quality Chats are Powerful, How Often Do You Have Authentic Life Talks?

When was the last time that you had an excellent chat with someone?

Hey, Can We Talk?

I had a life chat with a friend today.

They wanted to talk to me about something but, were unsure about sharing.

It went really well. Not like I expected it to go poorly. I more so mean it was one of those conversations where we were really ok with it not ending.

We planned on talking for a half hour and talked for an hour and a half. We got a lot closer by the end of the conversation. We could both look at this as a pivotal conversation for us.

That got me thinking. This is a normal thing for me. Is it for others?

Making The Extra Effort

I am what my friends would call a “Try Hard” 😂

I try and go above and beyond for everything.

Hobbies? Try Hard…

Work? Try Ridiculously Hard…

Planning a Vacation for my Friends? Try Uber Hard…

We’ll see how the vacation goes after this weekend. I got a boating license for this trip just in case we wanted to rent a boat.

You’re probably thinking what’s your point? You’re also likely thinking “I don’t wanna try that hard.”

And you shouldn't.

The point is for me, my obvious is to reach out (even if it’s a person that I don’t know). That may not be the case for everyone. In my head if I can reach out to someone that has the answer or could potentially have the answer I’m going to do that. We’ll have a little chat. Hopefully, I get what I needed.

In this era of life with the Internet and having all of the world at your fingertips. Having an in-depth conversation with someone on a topic isn’t as common.

I Want You to Try Something

Photo by Fahmi Fakhrudin on Unsplash

Pick something that’s plaguing you and talk to someone about it. Allow yourself to get lost in that conversation. I want you to try and connect with someone. If you can, do it in person.

You don’t have to talk for 60 mins, 45 mins, or even 30 mins. Just have a conversation and try and enjoy it!

I want you to try and talk about something deep to you. Don’t be afraid to talk about something complex and scary!

Venting and expressing your issues can be really beneficial for working out your problems. An answer that you get on the internet usually isn’t tailored to you.

Talking about it with someone that’s close to you and in that realm may also help keep it relevant to your issue.

Go get lost in a quality chat and try and be as open as you’re comfortable being.

That’s it. Try it out.

Cheers!
