ARC OF THE IMMORTALS/ Book 1 — Part 2
Pursuit: 54/ Triad Process
Recap: Jac works on a repeated image in his head. The Mighty/Horrid 3 are experiencing confusion from the electrical discharges from the nebula. Torn apart from the chaos of paradox, a remnant of Touzdae’s
spirit goes to a bland interdimensional realm to survive.
Jac is in Dreamtime. He observes his birth in the irrevocably damaged Sol Rae spaceship. His fama appears, provides some background, and invites Jac to observe the scene again. He says that he will need to find the power between the gaps in Jac as a child’s growth to have enough energy to save her.
Jac sets a plan in motion. He delivers information to the Needlecraft AI, Maja. She warns him that Touzdae cannot live for long out of her fragmented bodies and in the Paradox Zone.
end of Recap. And now…
Harry, Bendel, and Baz were adrift without thrusters. Bendel had passed out from quick gunning the fusion engine. Baz took the opportunity to put a helmet on his head. Auxiliary backup power came up after twenty minutes of battery power. Baz and Harry breathed a sigh. Bendel woke his mind clear and demanded a status report.
“Aberrant thoughts,” Jac told himself sitting by the lake in the Nez realm. “I need to put all these thoughts into the plan.” Jac began his list:
∞ The Apollo Capsule in the center of the lake. ∞ The Energy from in-between ages 3 hours old, 18 months old, 3 years old, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30 years old. ∞ Moving the three realities. Probe on the bottom. Needlecraft on top. Touzdae in the middle. A vertical configuration. One more step there. Touzdae on top. Dangerous for me —
“The end parts are easier,” he told himself. Another part of himself added with sarcasm, Ha. Yeah, right.
A luminous Yon appeared over the lake. For a moment Jac thought it was his fama. It was young Yon who had helped and accompanied Jac into the Platform of Infinite Dimensions. Golden light shimmered around Yon. He was pointing at a spot below him.
The capsule you seek is below me in the lake. Raise it, dry it, and transport it over the Well of Souls with you inside. Access the energy between the accelerated time. Use it to move the realities, Yon’s speaking voice manifested inside Jac’s head.
STOP LIMITING YOURSELF BY THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF THINGS! DO IT!
Yon popped out with a “pop” sound. Jac laughed. He thought of the capsule he played in as a child of 9 and again at age 12.
It appeared above the lake. Landed with a soft thud on the grass. He released one of the hatches and peered inside with light from his third-eye. It was as it was when he was young. His heart was light and filled the delight and whimsy.
Time to get serious and focused. This is no child’s play, Jac thought.
“Jac, help. Please — ” He heard her plea in his head.
He climbed into the capsule, secured the hatch, and began the 27-breath meditation.
“We’re in the clear, at least from here forward,” Bendel cried out. “Oh wait,” he palmed his forehead. “Idiot me! I can turn this helm chair in 360.”
“What? What do you see Bendel? Are we in the clear?” Harry’s frustration oozed from his pours.
“There are some trailing gases that are lingering,” Bendel said.
Baz was checking screens and filters for invisible gases.
“We’re clear!” Both Bendel and Baz exclaimed at the same moment.
“Time to capture a space fish?” Harry was gleeful.
Jac sent out an invisible thread to his floating image in the cell. Using his 3rd-Eye he checked his moving center from outside and inside. Connected, he thought.
“Cloak, above the Well of Souls,” Jac’s thought manifested in his voice.
Bendel fired a series of electrical beams at the medium size space fish. Stunned, but it kept moving.
The capsule appeared above the well. No other ships. A paradox tendril cracked across the side of the capsule. The cloak fell away. The tendril pulled the capsule down into the Well. Jac used thrusters to remove the craft from the tendril and gain some distance.
Jac settled into the 27-breath meditation. His thoughts concentrated on the energy between ages when he was young.
The Nez lost power, regained power for a moment, and lost it again.
“Damn, what is wrong with this thing?” Bendel shouted at the controls.
“We have to shut down the reactor — the power surges are burning out the core,” Baz shouted. Bendel shut it down.
The energy funneled downward toward the probe and the Needlecraft. A resonance of love manifested in Jac’s heart. In that instant he felt Touzdae’s fragmented bodies. His love surrounded and held all of them. The waves of energy between ages whirled in a circle faster and faster. It popped. The Apollo Capsule fell into the Well.
