ARC OF THE IMMORTALS/ Book 1 — Part 2

Pursuit: 23 / Aboard the Mu

gel. Touzdae takes adaptive measures.

[scenes of torture, PTSD body memories]

“Obey!” a garbled voice spoke with authority and power.

“I will not!” Jac said.

The hood was over his head. Below the lip of the hood, he saw the flash of meaty hands holding a stick. It was a charging pain stick. The man jabbed it into Jac’s hip.

“YOU WILL OBEY!”

“No,” Jac stated. The pointed electrical discharge seared through his body through his right hip. Jac’s spirit disengaged from his corporeal temple and floated above. The body was seizing. Jac’s spirit was pulled down into the body and hauled into unconsciousness; seizing.

Jac awoke in darkness, shivering-uncontrolled. Then a scream curdled through the healing center, and he passed into sleep.

A team of Atlantean Healers, three Entu Monks/Healers, a Nef Shaman/Medicine Woman, and three purebred Lemurian Sound Healers were assisting Jac.

In a separate wing of the Atlantean Healing Center, Touzdae opened her eyes.

“I’m alive,” she sat up. “How?”

“Our Chief Seer retrieved many images from you and some from Jac. Our team was able to repair and install the purple impact gel from here. Our engineering team has started the modifications.”

“What modifications?” Her eyes were wide with wonder. “And what of Jac?”

“There is his blindness and complex concussive echos. He is experiencing acute post-traumatic crisis features. He has a team of 33 healers in all.

“Your concussion was healed using standard protocols before moving you here.”

Jac awoke to the dark world of physical blindness. He saw an inner world of blue star-like/humanoid creatures when he blinked 3 to 6 times. The world lasted for seconds and the darkness returned.

“Am I revived?” Jac asked.

“There is much to tell, Jac. I am Horata-Karutooha, chief healer, you may call me Tooha. Do you have questions?”

“Yes. Is Touzdae revived? Is she okay? How did we survive without the purple gel? Hong long unconscious? How much progress with the modifications?”

Tooha explained about the purple gel restoration. “Touzdae is revived and cleared for ambulation about 1 day past. She is supervising the modifications based on your specifications. She was unconscious for three days. You were in and out of consciousness. -Experiencing flashbacks and body memories from the reintegration of your other self. Shy of four days.”

Tooha signaled the Nef Medicine Woman, with his long Lemurian-Atlantean fingers. She approached as if gliding above the deck. The woman was very tall with an oblong-shaped head and sculpted black hair.

“May this Nef Medicine Woman, healer make telepathic contact with you? She can be your eyes if you wish it,” Tooha inquired.

Jac still prone on a bio-bed raised his hand to receive the Naf Woman’s hand. Her hand feathered against Jac’s hand in the lightest of touches.

“Yes, but first I need more answers from you Tooha, please.” Jac requested.

“Proceed with your questions, Jac,” Tooha almost sang the words. He was graceful and holding an epad.

“Is Touzdae here? If not can she come here, soon? Will my eyesight return? If so when?”

“We have informed Touzdae of your state,” he began looking at the e-pad. “She is on her way here now. The entire team including the seers foresee that your eyesight will return. We don’t know when exactly given your PTS or Post Traumatic Stress features.

“Are there any scout ships chasing us? If so what are their positions and times of arrival?”

“Just a moment,” Tooha paused to scan the e-pad. “Three of thirteen scout and attack ships are on track to find us in about 6 hours from now. The Captain has been using short jumps to elude and confuse them. Six have turned back. It seems to be working.”

“Hired hands…” Jac surmised.

“Touzdae is here,” Tooha announced.

“Jac. How are you?”

“Other than not having my eyesight, I’m good.”

“Is this going to work — the retrofit of the ship?” Touzdae wondered.

“Yes. Folding space. You’re an expert on it,” Jac paused.

“I had the help of the Platform. I don’t know about now,” Touzdae said.

“Right,” Jac responded. For a moment he saw her in the dark blue world. He continued:

“Georgi Forae was a friend to my fa-ma, an Antarean and he designed the first Needlecraft. He used one of the engine designs still in use in most Forae Needlecraft, today. And he used an engine with a self-sustaining artificial quantum singularity that was used to fold space. You and I have the gift to see where, when, and how we go in advance of arrival,” Jac said.

“Interdimensional Sight,” Touzdae added.

“Right,” Jac said. And continued, “The later models; redesigned. They could trade many more of the modern-day craft because jump tubes can be created and navigated simply. Folding space requires accurate seeing, rare these days.”

“So where are we going?”

“Well, nowhere. ‘When are we going?’ is the question. We’re going into the past. I’ll let you know more when we re-board the new ship.”

The group of healers cleared the space for Captain Tommalar.

His presence was large, they parted for him, and with a flick of his eyes, they cleared the chamber. He sat down across from Jac’s bed.

“Reypat tells me that you’re planning to fold space from inside our ship.”

“Yes, that’s right. It’s the only way to cover our escape and prevent your ship from being impounded by those bounty hunters.”

“Won’t the displacement cause compression implosions in the hull?” he queried.

“Captain Tommalar, Code IT-R,” a voice came over the public address system.

The Captain lowered a visor over his eyes and activated his com.

“Yes, prepare an immediate emergency jump.” he flipped open the visor.

“Jac, take a long slow deep breath/” the Captain began.

“Prep. Countdown on 6 for IEJ. That’s right IEJ in 5, 4…”

“Exhale slowly,” Jac followed the Captain’s guidance.

“…two, one… jump.”

There was a crushing compression followed by expansive energy.

The Mu jumped.
