Pursuing Your Beautiful Enemy
With a sense of helplessness, you watch them disappear behind the elevator doors.

You shake your head at the woman. “Sorry, but I, uh, don’t want to make my partner worry. I need to get back to them. Bye!”
The woman looks disappointed, even a little angry. She flips her long, silver hair over her shoulder. “As you please.”
But before you reach the booth that you share with your partner, you see Sandra sitting in your place, talking and laughing with them.
Her clothes are revealing, too. Your significant other won’t cheat on you, right?
While you harbor that daunting thought, Sandra leans forward to whisper something in your partner’s ear. They laugh as if it’s the funniest thing they have ever heard.
Before you can react, the two of them rise from their seats and start walking away…out of the hotel buffet.
You stand there in shock. Then, with your best stealth, you follow the pair.
Sandra and your partner reach the elevators. Damn, there is no way you can keep an eye on them without exposing yourself.
So, with a sense of helplessness, you watch them disappear behind the elevator doors. You stare as the dial rises to 7 before it stops.
You grit your teeth, determined to pursue them.
The elevator takes forever to move down, so on an impulse, you rush to the stairs.
You’re not as fit as you used to be, but you’re no weakling, either. So you dash steadily until you reach the floor of your destination.
The corridor of the 7th floor is completely empty. So you press your ear to each door, to see if you can hear Sandra or your partner’s voice.
At first, this endeavor leads you nowhere. But after a while, you hear it.
Sandra and your partner are talking in high, excited voices, though you can’t discern the words. But you can make out the groans and sighs, and Sandra’s ecstastic cry.
It makes you sick and you want to run.
But you didn’t get this far in life by being a coward. With a deep breath, you kick the door open.
You breathe heavily as you see your partner and Sandra, naked and entwined on the bed.
She gazes up at you with hooded lids, smiling in her afterglow.
Your partner isn’t even looking at you. They’re sound asleep, with peace and happiness written on their face.
Even in the earlier days of your marriage, your partner has never looked this blissed out with you. You grip your fists and stalk towards the pair.
Sandra purrs, shamelessly still nude, “Oh hey, beautiful. Care to join us? There’s still plenty of room…”
You snap, “No. How could you? We’re your guests.”
The blonde woman makes a moue. “You’re no fun. Well, your partner was the one who made the first move. Not that I could resist.” She snuggles against your partner, and the latter mumbles and drapes an arm around her body.
What do you do now?
