PupperJack Flirts With Vegetarianism
And merely gets grass in his teeth

He’s a very principled little dog and wants to help spare any other creatures out there not as lucky as him.
So he thought vegetarianism might be a good option.
He’s not wildly impressed with straight grass, although he tries it on a regular basis in case his taste changes.

This purple thing looks interesting …
“Sniff, sniff …” — hmmm …. smells delish…
Jus’ gonna try a little nibble …
Ptooey, ptooey, spit, spit, bleugh!

You are mistaken, Susan — I was not about to nibble a prayer-plant leaf to try it for flavour. Certainly not.
Although it did look tasty.

Let’s try some yellow ones.
I’ll hold a buttercup under my chin and, if it turns my chin yellow, then I like butter; if it doesn’t, well then I don’t.
And it doesn’t, but that’s because my chin is furry and not furless like Susan’s, and I do like butter even though Susan never lets me help myself from the fridge. Mean thing.
Yellow ones don’t taste like butter. Yuk.

I’ll try a mouthful of these lovely pink crab-apple blossoms.
Oh, bleugh!

Maybe some blue ones …

I’ll try some grass over here — maybe it’s different to grass over there.
I’m not cut out to be a vegetarian.
Nah — I don’t think a life of greenery is for me, Susan!

But … Ooh — wait!!! Is that a carrot?
Gimme the carrot! Gimme, gimme, gimme the carrot or I shall emotionally blackmail you with my emotionally blackmailing look forever until the next time!
Just a note to say that no dogs, or plants, were significantly harmed in the creation of the above article — except the carrot, which was fully consumed and never seen in the same form again.
I have heard vets say that dogs can thrive on a vegetarian diet because they are not just carnivores — they are omnivores.
PupperJack eats a bit of anything and everything. I have to keep a sharp eye on him because he literally tries everything, even things that will make him ill.
