Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0
You are invited to publicize your stories on a brand new Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0 platform
I have set up a new version of Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0 on pubspotlight.com. The first version will stay up at 96c.co/i since it already has great search engine coverage and works well.
In fact, there are advantages to submitting to both indexes.
The idea is that the indexes provide a way to summarize your Medium story. Search engines and people stop by to visit. They read your summary, then visit your Medium page. It is like Reader’s Digest in an electronic format.
The sites are open to all Medium writers who want to submit stories.
Since starting Publisher’s Spotlight, my stats have risen from around 12,000 views in 30 days to 19,000 views per 30 days. I just recently joined ManyStories and have noticed a nice little bump from posting there, as well as posting on Unicorn News, my personal blog site.
Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0 (pubspotlight.com) will hold the stories for review while I see how everything is working. I have a software system designed to keep bots from using the form, but I want to observe it for a week or so to make sure it is working effectively.
The new site is more like composing your own post using a post editor. You can enter your title, write up your summary of your post, along with your name and link to the title. You can also add feature photos from Pixabay.com or Unsplash.com. I find this improvement to be the thing that will make Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0 more visually appealing for readers.
The post editor also allows for formatting, lists and all the other things that are available for someone writing a blog post. It gives the contributor a lot more control over the look of their story summary.
Publisher’s Spotlight 1.0 (96c.co/i) will automatically post the stories because I haven’t had any problems with bots and the automatic countermeasures.
I check both of them all the time.
I invited people to use the sites and enjoy them. I read the stories that people post there and am glad to see regular use of Publisher’s Spotlight by a lot of ILLUMINATION writers.
The sites are open to everyone from Medium, so it isn’t a secret advantage. It is just another index or fancy card catalog that helps connect readers to your writing via the web.
I will continue to work on building Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0 in the next days, so there might be changes. Most won’t be noticeable from the front end, but are more designed for search engine optimization.
I get outside traffic, but I am happy to have new readers. If they join Medium, it is a win for all of us. Also, it is nice to know that people are reading my work and enjoying it, even if I’m not making the big bucks just yet.
I find when I give, I receive back from the universe.
The internet world is no different.
Building an audience is the same way. Having new readers find my work and read it as a part of their introduction to this site is a great thing for everyone here since it is to all of our benefits at some point. Even, if it is just sending our ideas out into the universe for people to enjoy and to make their day a little brighter.
I hope I get more readers and earn more. I also want you to have the same opportunity and for all of us to do well, have more readers, and spread joy and love out into the universe to help people feel a little better.
I hope you enjoy Publisher’s Spotlight 2.0 and find it helpful for getting new audiences to your Medium stories.
