Proverbs — Convenient or True?

Tomorrow is another day

is what a lot of people say

and yet

Tomorrow never comes

seems as true as all the other ones.

So I guess what they are somehow trying to say

is that there will never be another day

which really does not make much sense

so let’s just worry about the present tense.

Look before you leap

is a rule I like to keep

But

He who hesitates is lost

is followed by a healthy host.

So if you want to realize your fate

look and leap but don’t hesitate.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

which is really quite true when it comes to the push

Yet

Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Should never really be disdained.

So when you stand

with a bird in your hand

do not look askance

at each passing chance

but let go and be not afraid.
