Protecting Your Energy
Day 21: Knowing that your energy is a powerful gift

Observing a tiny, intricate orange moth on our garden gate early this morning was a delight to my spirit. Noticing everything on my daily garden walk has become a ritual on my path. Understanding and growing my spirit as I explore for 100 days the book The Infinite Self by Stuart Wilde is a great part of my journey here on Earth. I have learned so much, and I have a lot yet to learn.
Just recently I learned how important it is to protect my inner energy source. It is a beautiful, loving energy that I can create by taking care of my body and my spirit every day. However, our energy can be compromised by many things. The way that we treat our health and our emotions matter so much more than we can comprehend. Our sacred energy is the key to our inner knowing, we must treat it with love and kindness.
Purity is staying inside your energy, conserving it and guarding it. You’re not going to trash your energy by suddenly eating a whole bunch of junk, by going out for a week or two drinking yourself stupid, or by getting so stoned you can’t operate. You’re not going to take your energy into place where it will be trashed. You’re not going to trash your energy by fighting with people. -Stuart Wilde

Every day I am learning how to protect my energy and how I can create more energy. I have found that the more I walk, the more energy I have to create and the more grounded I am in my body. When I am grounded, I am less in my mind and that helps me create from a beautiful place of my inner spirit. Walking in nature has become the foundation of my energy.
Taking care of my energy by taking care of my healthy and my body is paramount. Drinking plenty of water, eating lots of fresh and healthy foods, eating slowly and really savoring the flavors of each meal are all ways that I feel such joy in protecting my energy. I truly love food as a gift from nature to nurture my spirit and I look forward to eating each meal with gratitude.
Purifying your energy is coming from the point of saying: The infinity inside of you is very beautiful and very important, and you’re not going to trash your energy by taking it into places where there are copious amounts of sludge. -Stuart Wilde
Protecting your energy also means being aware of your time commitments and who you are around on a regular basis. Take time to notice what you are saying yes to. Are you saying yes to ideas, events and to people too quickly? It is okay to take your time. It is perfectly acceptable to say that you need time to think about it, and let people know when you will get back to them. I am still working on not saying yes to things too quickly. I used to say yes to almost everything. It’s wonderful to experience life as much as possible and to participate, however it is also paramount to protect your energy and pay attention to what lifts your energy and what drags your energy down.
Little by little, I am learning to protect my energy by protecting my time more. I have learned that I do my best creative work in the mornings. I can do odd chores and things around the house after lunch, however I cannot work on writing or other creative projects after that time. So, if I get a call or a message during the morning, I let the person know I will be available in the afternoon or evening. I set times for all of my commitments after my creative work is done.

Once you raise your energy and you’re going faster and faster, if you fall out of balance, you’re going to fall out of balance extremely quickly. So guard your energy and don’t allow things to get out of control. If something looks like it’s going to be a problem, fix it quickly. Do something positive that’s going to to establish control. -Stuart Wilde
It is so key to keep your balance in all things in this life. It takes time and awareness to discover what your balance is. If you discover how you can create the best creative energy within your spirit, you can also find out how to protect it. You can become more aware of how to balance your life.
I have found personally that this year, 2020, my year of becoming has been one of truly finding out what my balance is. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to slow down, to center myself and to finally find a true balance. That balance for me is to rise early, meditate, walk in nature, do my creative work, take care of my home and then enjoy the rest of the day with my family. That has developed into a daily ritual and a daily gift.
Learning to love myself, to love my spirit, to love my energy and care for it has become the greatest journey of my life. This journey has taken me to so many beautiful places without going very far in the physical world. Every day is a new opportunity to care for, nurture and grow my energy so that I can give it freely to all who need to be uplifted today.
My prayer and my intention for you today is that you take a look at your energy. How are you caring for your body, your spirit and your energy? How are you finding balance in life? It looks different for everyone. I invite you to find your true balance, your harmony, your energy and your creativity.
How do you balance and care for your energy daily?
