Promote Or Not To Promote Your Work Is The Question

There are different school of Thoughts — Episode 10

You have just created an account on Medium.

You explore the platform and find it interesting.

You soon find out that there are writers who have thousands of followers and are making a lot of money each month.

But then there are writers who are struggling hard and not getting anywhere.

You take a deep breath and start creating your own content.

You read stories every day created by experienced writers.

You realize that there is no magic. In fact, these popular writers are also very normal people. They only work intelligently and diligently, which makes them succeed on this platform.

Eureka!!! It is social media like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and so on that helps them grow and make money!!

Or is the paid promotion that is being really helpful?

Maybe it the platforms like slack that are giving the needed push?

Or having your own website is doing the trick?

So, it boils down to one simple question!

Should we or should we not promote our work??

Some veteran writers like Dr Mehmet Yildiz say that social media presence is very good. Check out this article on the subject.

Other successful writers on Medium say that there is no need to promote your work. But then again, these writers are so popular on Twitter, FB… etc.

So, what is the correct path to promote your work?

It is especially relevant for the new writers or the writers with less visibility or fan following?
