PROMETHEUS — A Poem

Let there be Light!
Isn’t that what we hear?
To spread utter joy,
With no thought of fear?
Has it not been said,
Where there is Darkness there is Light
Yet,
Hadn’t the gods thought Prometheus was in spite?
Had his Darkness not given Light,
Would man be ridden of the night?
Had Prometheus been afraid of the almighty lords,
Would humanity bend on their knees to his fiery roar?
Had MLK Jr. not been brave enough to stand up for his beliefs,
Would the black community cry in relief?
Had Einstein been discouraged,
Would the realm of physics ever flourish?
Let there be Light!
Isn’t that what we hear?
To spread utter joy,
With no thought of fear?
