Priti Patel Declares Guardian Readers Terrorists
A few days ago, Extinction Rebellion were placed on the list of groups posing a potential terror threat by Home Secretary, Priti Patel.
The reaction was predictable.

A one Sebastian Monblat wrote to the Independent warning that this was a signal of a ‘ dystopian post-truth society’ and that it ‘ underlines the populist instincts of an administration.’ Which is I suppose a step up from his writing to the paper in 2015 to express his concerns about the UNs choice of music.
And obviously the Guardian and the Labour party are concerned. As well they might be. For if this decision were followed to the logic extent, both readership of the Guardian and to some extent membership of the Labour party would be indicators of a potential terror threat…. and be subject to referral for de-radicalisation.
Extinction Rebellion is simply the latest example in which the Guardian has adopted an extremist position: and from which it will retreat when, if, things go wrong (hoping no one will notice the role they played).
Today’s Manchester Evening News has details of a report into Manchester police and social services, and their unwillingness to tackle ‘grooming gangs’. The Guardian, true to form, are quick to leap on comments by ‘whistleblower’ Maggie Oliver that police officers should be prosecuted. What they aren’t so keen to report on is their role in creating the culture that created the conspiracy of silence.
So lets have a look at the ‘responsible’ guidelines the Guardian has for reporting on Climate Change, so as not to breed extremists…. “use Climate emergency, crisis or breakdown, instead of climate change”, “use global heating instead of global warming”, etc…
The editor Katherine Viner explains her sensationalist approach. And I urge you to go and read the sensationalist articles that resulted. Along with the lionization of the Children’s Crusade Greta Thurnberg, mass arrests, general nonsense. But hurry, because we only have twelve years left to live….
Now at some point, a reasonable person would go, “this is all a bit nutty.” But not the Guardian. People aren’t doing enough. And the fascists be shamed and must be made to understand. It’s almost like a merging of communism and Methodism.
Now mix in existing terror groups, like the Animal Liberation Front, anti-fur protestors, vegans, and various other idealists… all of who use the Guardian as their version of Inspire magazine.
It isn’t just that the Guardian is wrong, or that it is fake news. The issue is that so often that what it is wrong about — often for the best of reasons — leads to tragic outcomes.
And quite sensibly the government have intervened.
