Prism of Colors

Poem

January/February Writing Prompts: 31st — 4th: Take a black-and-white image and use your words to create a color prism of mindful actions.

Source: Me

I am red, like the color of the blood that runs through my body, it signifies my vitality

I am blue, like the color of the oceans and the heavens above me, it signifies my serenity,

I am green, like the color of the natural pristine world around me, it signifies my creativity

I am orange, like the color of the flames of the fire burning inside me, it signifies my energy

I am yellow, like the color of the sunflower that faces the east daily, it signifies my positivity

I am pink, like the color of rose quartz formed organically, it signifies my femininity

I am violet, like the color of the Sabrewing hummingbird flying freely, it signifies my spirituality

I exist boldly in the prism of colors they signify who I want to be, can you see…me?

When I read this prompt, I was immediately inspired to write poetry, especially because jules encouraged us to try something new. I don’t mind stepping outside of the box to explore my creativity when I feel that fire, and I am grateful that this prompt created that desire.
