Prince Harry and Princess Meghan Are Living Happily Ever After

And the racist British media is angry as hell

Harry and Meghan, Netflix’s blockbuster docuseries is the most-watched series of all time. That means millions of people from around the world are tuning in to hear Harry and Meghan’s version of events.

From my perspective, it’s definitely well worth the watch. Anyone that wants to make a sound and well-informed opinion of the couple needs to listen to their side of the story. That’s just the fair and healthy thing one has to do.

One thing that comes across quite clearly throughout the 6 episodes of Harry and Meghan, is how deeply they are in love with each other. It’s endearing and one can only continue to be, like I am, or become a cheerleader for their beautiful story.

I relate even more closely to the couple given that I am in an interracial relationship and have two mixed-race children. Interracial relationships carry their own unique challenges — especially with regard to issues around racism and race, and I have written about some of those in my body of work here on this platform.

Now, while some thought the couple was doing these docuseries to get back at the Royal Family, the reality is that this is not at all the case. They talk about their experiences, and how people made them feel.

Harry relates to the fact that William shouted and screamed at him over his decision to move to the US. He relates that his father, King Charles, was telling him things that “simply weren’t true”.

A lot of what the couple share is how they were made to feel by the British Royal Family and the British media. When they talk about these issues, one can see how they greatly affected them.

In the series, they also help us understand certain things that they did. For example, when they moved into Tyler Perry’s house in California, the media were quick to speculate that it had always been their grand plan to move to the US and that their stay on Vancouver Island was just another ploy to mislead the public.

It turns out that when Harry and Meghan found out that their security was going to be pulled, they panicked and greatly feared for their family.

Tyler Perry, whom they barely knew, helped them out. I think that the Royal Family should be ashamed of the fact that they left the son of the future King of England at the time, and his wife and child, to fend for themselves, knowing fully well that they were receiving numerous death threats. Basically, they set Harry and Mehgan and baby Archie up for a tragedy to happen. They simply didn’t care. I think that speaks volumes about the type of people that they are.

Tyler Perry believed in their love and just wanted to give a helping hand so that they could get off to a good start. Meghan hadn’t been hatching out a Maechaevelic plan to move to the US since the first day she met Harry. They ended up in L.A. because the British Royal Family and a majority of the British people refused to protect them under the pretext that they were no longer working royals. This was evil and done in spite.

Fortunately, Perry saved them from what could have become a dangerous situation. It is only normal that they asked him to be one of Lilibeth’s godparents because despite not really knowing them, he was there for them.

There are also some clarifications about Meghan’s relationship with her estranged father. Again, the couple expresses their shock at how her father was quick to sell photos of her to the media. He wanted to cash in on the fact that his daughter was marrying into the Royal family. Meghan and Harry had to cut him off in order to protect themselves, and they were right to do so.

The media have judged Mehgan for walking away from her father when in fact they should be questioning why a father, a parent would expose rather than protect their own child.

Yes, Harry and Meghan talk about how the other members of the Royal Family became envious of them given that the public loved them. For me, this isn’t taking a jab at the family, it’s simply telling the truth.

They were jealous of Princess Diana because she was the center of attention despite not really wanting to be one, and that bothered certain members of the Royal Family. The couple speculates that it is this jealousy that led to increasingly negative media coverage about them — especially Meghan.

All in all, though, I didn’t see the two taking aim at or trying to destroy the British Royal Family. They are simply telling their truth and in so doing, showing the person on the street that they are human like you and me. They have feelings, they have their good days and their bad days. When in danger, they did everything they needed to do to survive.

Most of all, however, they are in love, and they want to build a good life for their children as we all do. It’s well about time we all realize that Harry and Meghan are not at all the people the media want us to believe they are — they aren’t evil, manipulative, or spoilt. They are just a man and a woman in love. Yes, as they both say at the end of the docuseries: Love wins. In this case, I am glad that it has.
