December Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Snow & White”
Mud and ice — off-white — not nice.
The Caped Crusader and I are not impressed. Striding out over crisp white snow is invigorating. Hauling ourselves through often ankle-deep mud, not so much. Our favourite walk down Muddy Lane has been out of bounds for weeks already.
Hereabouts, we go for literal names. Almost every settlement is mapped out by a Front Lane, Back Lane, and Middle Lane, which show how it was set out when first established. The fording of a brook in our village many years ago turned the village round. Back Lane is now the main street.
Muddy Lane, however, means just what it says. I have neither waders nor the inclination to try at this time of year.
