Should YOU Prepare Your Body for Breakfast Everyday?
How do you break your fast?
What is breakfast? If you notice breakfast is a combination of two words, break and fast. So, breakfast means — breaking the fast.
When you go to bed at night, which you should do normally three hours after you finish dinner (to prevent acid reflux while you sleep), you are basically fasting for those 6 to 8 or 9 hours you are sleeping. The body needs at least 8 hours of sleep. Don’t let anyone tell you to sacrifice sleep, as it can cause problems later. Sleep is when your body tries to repair itself. Never underestimate the power of getting a good night’s rest. That is why body builders recommend that you get a good night’s sleep to repair the muscles torn when you lift weights.
That is also the time, you are also not eating. The body digests the dinner and also the other foods you have eaten throughout the day and uses it to repair itself. So, when you wake up in the morning you are hungry because your stomach is empty.
Many people I’ve talked to say that they drink a cup of coffee or eat a bowl of cereal as soon as they wake up. However, that is not the right thing to do as the cereal or sugar is processed. You need to give your body something more natural to help stimulate the gastrointestinal tract and also improves digestion.
To do this, add a little lemon juice to a few ounces of warm water. I don’t mean bottled lemon juice, but natural — straight from the lemon itself. You can also use lime if you don’t have lemons. Why do you need to do this? Because, the warm water with some lemon juice helps to stimulate the GI tract. It improves digestion and make your body ready for breakfast.
Lemon juice has citric acid in it, but the other nutrients and minerals in the lemon are alkaline. Citric acid’s potency is reduced because of the warm water. It helps to stimulate the liver and also your body to detoxify. Lemons also contain Vitamin C, which is good for fighting colds and also helps boost the immune system.
This is what I do every morning without fail. And, it has improved my digestion. Why don’t you try it and see yourself?
