“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

- 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

If you wonder about God’s will for you, this is one of those ways where he makes his will clear. His will for us is to rejoice, pray, and give thanks. And when we step into his will in this way, we will experience his presence.

Why?

Because he wants to be in a relationship with him, to begin with, but now, we show we want to be in deeper relationship with him. When we reach out to God in rejoicing and thanks, it is acknowledging and communing with him in our good times. Even if it is in the middle of something hard.

Rejoicing, praying and giving thanks are acts of our will.

We choose to do them. If we are struggling and don’t want to do them, then we choose not to. However, when we do choose to do these things in the middle of difficulty, we are growing our faith and attracting heaven into our lives.

When we give thanks to God, we are agreeing he is a good God who is sovereign over all. And he wants abundance and blessing for us. When we give thanks, we step into that abundance and blessing.
