Postcard from Hawaii to Iowa
January 24, 2022
Aloha Katie Michaelson,
Received your beautiful postcard, thank you! Yes, living off-grid on the edge of creation is an adventure. Good news, no big earthquakes today. However, the molten magma lake in Pele’s crater just dropped 30 feet. The question is: Where did it go? We’ll be keeping an eye on that!
Pele’s temper is mild compared to her sister in Tonga. She rarely explodes just lovingly flows as she landscapes new gardens on her island.
Iowa and Hawaii share the love of living on the land. At heart, we’re all farmers. When disasters strike we all come together like one family.
Those who aren’t prepared to receive Pele’s gifts quickly move back to the mainland. Those that love it, live together in community, share nature’s abundance, and thrive here!
How’s your winter going?
Aloha,
James
