What I understand by the term positivity

What is positivity? I think about this term quite often. I always say that I look at life with positivity. I feel that if we think about something with a good intention we are satisfied and contented with whatever life brings for us.

Life has its ups and downs. There are good days and challenging days. If we are positive we can surpass these daily challenges.

I feel that positive thoughts is about expecting the best to happen but accepting, whatever happens, is for the best.

Positivity can mean different things to different people. If I was to compare religion and positivity, I would say that religion is a belief but positivity is faith to me. It is the faith or hope that I will be able to do or accept events happily in my life.

The positive relationship we have with ourselves matters more and can help us live better.

Happiness is immediate and short-lived but Eudaimonia is the ultimate joy in the long run by finding happiness through positivity.

I read the book on Ikigai which is a Japanese philosophy and it influenced me immensely.

In this book, it says that if you have a positive attitude and live an intentional life with something to do and a community to support you then you live your life with less stress and be happy.

To support this philosophy, I realized that I already do mindful walking and mindful breathing, I engage myself in the service of the community and have decided to live meaningfully. So my thoughts are very aligned with the Japanese philosophy.

The point is to be aware of our being as a whole right here, right now, in the present moment.

Positivity is a journey and every day my thought and attitude should be positive.

The journey works for me in four steps:

Positive thoughts, Intention, Action forward, Reflect

Positive thoughts

How will my thoughts come? they will come from my intention. My intention is to be happy through a positive feeling of whatever I do. It is living in the present moment. The moment for me is joy. So my intention is also to be positive.

Let me give you an example. I was taking a walk in the community garden, My free time was a contribution to society to look after the park in the area. I appreciated the gardener and his work. I see the grass green. My friend sees the same grass with weeds.

She jeered at him. and told me that previously I looked after the garden and this gardener is hopeless. He does not listen to anyone and he is a liar. See the weeds in the grass. This was such a sad situation. The same Gardner did more work than three people together since I took charge. It was not his fault that the development authority had sent us second-grade grass which had weeds.

Her thoughts towards the gardener and the park were always negative. No gardener lasted for long. This particular gardener did not quit and the new team, the person along with me found him to be knowledgeable and helpful and the garden is amazing. Positive thoughts do help.

Intention

My intention is to share the love with people by making a connection. If in return they like me then a connection is made and the journey goes on. If they do not enjoy being with me, the connection will not be made. However, I should keep on trying to spread love.

An example to be cited is If I tell a person the taste of pineapple that he has never eaten in his life, he will not have the taste of it and will not understand. So I should make him taste a pineapple.

It is futile to make him understand. Even if my intention is there to share love and to help him to be positive in his thoughts. The connection may not be made. I may have the intention but my intention does not tally with him.

Action

My action or way forward in keeping positive in whatever I do is to have a plan. How do I keep myself positive? My action is through mindfulness and spirituality. When I practice Yoga and flow with it. I breathe in positivity and breath out negativity. Fresh breaths in the morning make me think clearly.

My spirituality is to understand people. To find out why they behave the way to do. Not to judge people but to understand them. I do not like to judge people unless I associate with them, meet them and interact with them closely.

Spirituality teaches us to be strong and to face challenges and problems smilingly with a positive attitude that this will also pass. Whether we laugh or cry the time will move on. Positivity is also a decision that you have to take in your life with love.

Reflect

This refers to taking feedback. Whatever action you take the feedback is important. Look into yourself and reflect and see that you have not hurt anyone in the process of talking or sharing your views with them. Check that you are spreading love and being spiritual in your dealings.

What are the learnings?

#1 Positive intention: Always have the intention to have loving, positive, and happy thoughts and spread love towards people. Is my intention positive in what I am doing right now? Am I following my value as a human being in my treatment of others? Spirituality has a great meaning in having positive thoughts.

#2. Direction: Try to attune yourself to Attention. Being mindful and having spirituality makes you cool and happy. You do get angry but when you solve your problems you accept the challenge and control yourself that things happen for the best. choose your direction and try to use your strategy for improving things through love and without hurting others.

#3. Action to move forward: Act to actually conduct and practice it. The four pillars of Positivity that you need to assess every time you do something. Am I sure that my action is according to my intention?

#4. Self-reflection: When you have the time to reflect on your own while you’re thinking or doing something, try to ask the question of how you have conducted yourself. recognize yourself and see that your intention has been positive.

Conclusion

Positivity is a four-step journey. It is to remember to have positive thoughts, have good intentions, A direction to take through action, and finally to take feedback by reflecting in our inner self.

If we are happy and positive inside it will reflect outwards. It is difficult for negative people to think positively or for a person to change their thoughts towards positivity because they have never tasted it. So they remain depressed and lock themselves inside.

Practice spirituality and mindfulness and act with love by finding a suitable and happy direction towards positivity.

A positive atmosphere nurtures a positive attitude, which is required to take positive action.
