LIFE

Positive Thinking Should Govern the World

Do we have more reason today than before to think negatively and pessimistically?

The power of thought

Sometimes man tends to think negatively and pessimistically. Negative thinking is not good for us, because what we think can easily become a reality. What we think tends to come true.

The power of thought is important to man. When we think negatively, we expect something negative to happen. We like to prepare for the worst because we expect something negative to happen. We then try to reduce the disappointment that comes because the negative happens.

When we are anxious, we may go into a defensive position. We would rather not think or talk about the difficult things. We get stuck.

On the other hand, man can also think positively and optimistically. When that happens, you feel better and look brighter on life. Man can choose a lot in his life.

Man can choose to think that things are going well anyway because there are many positive signs that we can interpret to find out that things are going well. We are not forced to be negative in our thinking, we do not have to go and think that the worst happens anyway.

Do we have more reason today than before to think negatively and pessimistically?

During the Cold War in the 1970s and 1980s, people could find many reasons to think negatively and pessimistically, in part because the world was then threatened by a nuclear conflict. But is it like that today — is it the case that everything only gets worse, that everything just becomes unbearable? Or is it the case that humanity is making progress despite many setbacks and difficulties, despite the climate crisis, international political tension between great powers and a worldwide pandemic?

Bad news media

News media tend to seek out and focus on the negative news. News media report incessantly that the individual who walks in daily life experiences that life only becomes more and more difficult to live.

Is it really so? Are things really that bad? Could it be the case that we are influenced and affected by all the hate speech in the comment fields, the negative news messages and the massive negative impact that hits us when we look around us in the world?

Is it conceivable that we simply select the negative information and let it dominate our thoughts and feelings?

Is it possible that we have become too accustomed to thinking negatively, that we have become too accustomed to practicing pessimism as an attitude to life? Have we become too accustomed to all the negative news? Does the dystopian view of the world dominate, do we feel that all the negative in the world will destroy the world, no matter whatever we do?

True or false?

True or false?

We can find answers to all questions.

Everyone can create a future.

Everyone can find a meaning in life.

We are not alone.

There is always a solution.

Everyone can succeed with something, but not everyone can succeed with everything.
