Portugal is on fire
I can’t believe my country is all on fire

Every year with the arrival of summer, all the Portuguese, including me, are waiting for fireworks.
When it’s not with the extreme callus, people like to set fires just for fun and it’s costing people’s lives, material goods, and nature. Every year history repeats itself, with no means of a lot of care, for the many cleanings that are done, it all comes back to the same. More than half the fires in my country are arson, which means it’s human guilt.
I do not know if you remember a few years ago, the fire of Pedrogão Grande that killed a lot of people here in Portugal, even one of the roads where more people died became known as the “Road of Death”.
All the people in that village and surrounding area these days every time they hear the word “fire” in summer height so they start to panic and I know this because I grew up and spent all the summer holidays there.
How is it possible that people who do this type of things can sleep peacefully at night?
There are lives at stake, a house in my opinion is a life of work for anyone, and I can’t imagine people watching their homes burn and be left with nothing because it was all consumed in a few hours. Today I am outraged because Portugal is on fire and at this moment I fear for my country.
