Pondering
A Poem
Pondering the plight of this rumpled existence a foreboding monotony a sliver of light the sound of darkness the next sunrise a thought bubble this mind will not stop
Pondering our existence and the length of space and the depth of time and the width of world measurements of the psyche examinations of self a cold, hard stop on a wet, tin roof
Pondering technology on the scales of worth and really wondering if it is all worth it the veritable ease of information gathering and comment haggling leaving us vapid
Pondering platitudes and all of the things that we say to each other that mean absolutely nothing How are you? don’t care, please don’t answer I was just being friendly a culture lost
Pondering every part of self the loss, the gain, lost, won the gray of my beard the cycle of my mind the inherent mistrust the artful and destructive long-form wondering about what this all is
Pondering another day another month, another year another ladder to climb another book to read another video to watch and time to just sit a meditation on this now is already before
