Polishing off the Summer Squash
To the looney tunes of jackhammers and fireworks.
Outside my window by day, jackhammers yammer and hammer away. At least on lockdown, I don’t have to travel Through their piles of rubble and gravel.
As soon as the sun goes down, fireworks snap, crackle, and pop all over town. I’m blessed or cursed with so much noise, it’s costing me my poise and my peace of mind…
Work is getting behind, and you could say, out of hand but I what I really find unkind is the lack of justice all over the land.
Here’s an example of enjambment on the pretense of being under a crescent moon. Or maybe a chocolate crescent for breakfast is the bestest way to stay sane and in tune without freaking out.
Grant me the fortitude to have a good attitude while I make everything posh and maybe even polish off this here summer squash.
