POLIprompt #2 — Predictions
2020 is here — what will this year bring?

Welcome to our second POLIprompt!
Politically Speaking is a pub where we acknowledge two things: 1. Politics is in pretty much everything and 2. All our voices matter.
We support each other, despite differences of opinion, and welcome all voices and perspectives to the conversation. The point is to open honest yet respectful dialogue and support for each other as we exercise our voices on the politics and issues that move us. Join us!

POLIprompt #2 Predictions
2020 is HERE. I am pretty sure you noticed the worldwide celebration last night. 😉 (If you didn’t get a chance to watch an intoxicated and giggling Anderson Cooper ringing in the New Year — well, that was the excitement of my evening.)
I find moments like these remind us of what unites us globally, and for that I am always enamored, moved, inspired. It is also a time for personal reflection, the making of goals, and plans for the year.
It is also 2020 (yes, I am saying that in the voice of Barbara Walters)— and we, as politically and socially aware people, have been hearing about 2020 for some time now with regards to US politics. The election, I expect, will dominate headlines all year.
This gives us several opportunities with regards to our writing:
- With rising political interests this year, we have opportunity to grow our followership and take advantage of the trend.
- We will likely have a lot to say.
- This is a perfect place to share your thoughts, frustrations, analyses, and interpretations of the events as they unfold this year.
So I ask you, what are your political predictions this year? Societal or newsworthy predictions? Thoughts on how certain issues of interest will develop as the year progresses?
Who will be the next POTUS? 😲😲😲
What will be the biggest issues this year?
We’ll call this one “Predictions.” 🔮
I invite you to share your predictions for the year, perhaps, your hopes or fears as well. How will our global relationships, crises, interactions change this year? What do you see on the horizon for our global relations?
What do you foresee playing out this year with the US elections? Are you hopeful? Give your article (or poem, fiction) a personal touch (this helps encourage curation) and share your predictions for 2020. You can take your predictions further into the whole decade, if you wish.

Maybe next year you can revisit your article and see how accurate your 2020 predictions were!
If you choose to write fiction you may tag it under the Perspectives tag and put FICTION above your title or otherwise make it clear in your post. (There wasn’t enough room in the tabs on this pub for me to make a fiction tab, but fiction is welcome here.)
I look forward to your entries. When the next POLIprompt is released I will do a roundup of all POLIprompt #2 entries in a Letter to all our readers.
