Poetry: Whiskey On The Walls

Let go of your demons before you fall

Photo by Eduardo Mallmann on Unsplash

Whiskey on the walls Tears fall Because no one saw The anger in their eyes The redness that brought upon the call

It was whiskey on the walls that tried to warn us But all of us were blind until it was too late And now we’re singing the blues Never sober Never sleep We lay down quietly While our souls continue to weep

Stop apologizing and fix yourself Stop apologizing and control yourself Stop apologizing; it will never be enough Stop apologizing, and change You don’t need to be tough

Don’t put whiskey on my walls Instead, make yourself better Stand up, straight, and tall Let go of your demons before you fall I can’t save you anymore I can’t clean up the whiskey you put on my walls
