Poetry…Unchained

Mere words?

“You don’t write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say .” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

On a lonely day, It is my companion. On a happy day, It makes me smile broader. In a room full of people, It stays by my side when nobody does. In my thoughts, In my feelings, When I ask, And even I don’t. It holds my hands, Or caresses my cheeks. Like the gust of wind on a sunny day. Or the rainfall that quenches the earth’s thirst after many dry days. Poetry, mere words for others, For me, it is myself…unchained.
