IPOETRY-THE SHORT PLACE PROMPT
Poetry Prompt Contest: “It Happened in a Song.”
Think about a song that brings forth strong emotions
Hello, dear readers and writers. Thank you for your support! This publication of ours keeps going strong, thanks to you.
We have an announcement for you today.
Starting on November 3rd to November 30th, we will run a collaboration prompt with our sister publication, The Short Place. The topic will be “It Happened in a Song.”
Think about a song that brings forth strong memories or reminds you of that time your heart got broken. Then write a poem inspired by it.
Now, here’s what you need to know to be part of this prompt:
- Word count: between 50 to 500 words.
- Add the kicker ‘iPoetry-The Short Place Prompt.’ If you don’t know how to add a kicker, please read this article.
- Add the tags It Happened in a Song and Poetry. We leave the rest of the tags up to you.
- At the end of your poem, add a link to the song. It can be on YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, or any other you prefer.
- You can submit one post per writer per publication. However, feel free to keep submitting under other topics as usual.
- You can invite other writers to participate in the prompt by tagging them, but we suggest not overdoing it. Please limit it to 2 writers at max.
- The last day to submit a story is November 29th, 2021.
- The winners will be announced on December 8th.
Each publication will select one winner from the submitted content based on their submission guidelines and content quality, and there will be three honorable mentions. The winner will receive a $25 prize (make sure to have a PayPal account at the ready, please).
If you have any questions, please, leave a comment here or send an email to [email protected]
