Summary

The undefined website features the thirteenth poetry writing prompt, inviting writers to explore the theme of luck through poetry, and showcases selected works from the previous week.

Abstract

The Poetry Playground Writing Prompt #13 challenges poets to reflect on personal experiences or create fictional narratives related to luck, whether good or bad, and to consider the potential influences behind these events, such as divine intervention or the actions of others. The prompt encourages poets to experiment with different stanza lengths to capture the emotions and circumstances of the events they describe. The website also highlights a selection of poems from the previous week's prompt, including "Wanderer above the sea of fog" and "Seeking the Divine," and welcomes general poetry submissions, with a special mention of "I’m not so good with words…" by My Cozy Den. Additionally, it provides a link to an article on how to become a writer for Poetry Playground and tags current writers to encourage mutual support within the community.

Opinions

  • The prompt suggests that the concept of luck is subject to interpretation, whether it's seen as mere chance, a divine act, or the result of someone's deliberate actions.
  • The website values diversity in poetic expression, as indicated by the openness to both personal stories and fictional pieces, as well as the suggestion to use stanza structure creatively.
  • The curators of the Poetry Playground appear to be supportive of their writers, emphasizing community engagement and recognition of each other's work.
  • The inclusion of links to previous works and encouragement to explore other poets' contributions indicates a desire to foster a collaborative and inspiring environment for writers.

Poetry Playground Writing Prompt #13

Do you believe in luck?

This week’s prompt is inspired entirely by the number 13, as it is the thirteenth prompt.

Can you think of a time when you were particularly lucky or unlucky? Write a poem about it. Was it luck? Might it have been divine intervention? Or was it caused by someone else’s actions? If you don’t want to share a personal story, you could make it a fictional piece.

This week, try to convey in the form of your poem the feelings and circumstances of the events if you can. For example, you might want to think about stanzas of different lengths to indicate length of time, surprise, or even boredom.

Remember, general poetry submissions are always welcome here.
