The how and why of joining us.

Poetry Palace is a home for poets on Medium, to share both their poems, and their writing about poetry.

If you’d like to contribute as a writer, please fill out the following Google Form:

To help with organizing, please use one of the following tags in your piece, so that the site will sort it into the right tab on the website.

Poem

For actual poems.

Poetry Learning

For posts about how to write poetry, or a general essay about poetry or a poet.

Old School Poems

A place for you to share your terrible teenage poetry. Tag your poems Old School to make sure they get in that tab.

If you have an idea for other features, please let me know!

Guidelines

  1. We are not here to judge your skill level. Poets of all skill levels are welcome in this publication.
  2. Once you have been added to the publication, you are welcome to submit poems at your leisure. They will be reviewed and scheduled to post by the editors as necessary.
  3. I am a very big believer in letting your poems stand on their own. That means not adding a lot of explanatory text in addition to your poem. That isn’t to say that it isn’t welcome, but try to let your poems stand on your own.
  4. New poems are preferred — and will show up longer on the Poetry Palace page. However, we are happy to accept your pre-published poems.

Formatting

  1. Use SHIFT+Enter to create line breaks, while using enter to create stanza breaks. It makes your poem look much more attractive under Medium’s system.

As the rules and guidelines for this publication change, this post will be updated to reflect that, and a letter will be sent to the publication at large.
