Poetry — Nature Boy

When you still had love in your eyes.

Solemn days The autumn frays As I realize you’re gone I don’t know if I’ll be okay Voiceless; there are no words to say

The wind blows My feelings come and go Numbness is my new friend The numbness always knows

Can you see the blue sky? Do you ever see how high the birds fly? Remember when we were kids flying our kites? No cars on the empty highway It was perfection A beautiful and innocent sight

Two of us left Wondering why she was destined to get away with theft She took you from me But you made it happen

So as the winter comes I will feel no warmth Only memories from past summers When you still had love in your eyes Nature boy
