Poetry — Love — Spirituality — Soulmates
The Moon

This piece is in response to a writing theme suggestion by Jocelyn Joy Thomas in the article Writer’s on Medium — Week 6. The new theme? Brightening up each other’s day with a story that makes us smile.
I’m kinda suffering from options paralysis here.
I decided on a poem because the title popped into my head along with the closing line. I love it when the inspiration genuinely comes like a whisper, don’t you?
I have been feeling a calling, a pull, a sensing of a different kind. This subtle distraction is connected to another. Some call them Soulmates, some Divine Counterparts. I feel his presence. It is peaceful, supportive, unconditional, and near. Allowing myself to tune into this new experience, I smile.
Love’s pull Like the moon on the tide Gentle Beckoning I recognize it I don’t know who he is Or where But I feel him
This tender force Quiet Subtly Powerful Calling Guiding me To him
I know he feels it too That siren’s song Drawing two hearts together Anticipation Destiny Waxing He’s out there We are magnets And he’s close
Thank you for spending time with me in my world © 2023 Delaney Patterson
