iPOETRY PRESENTS
Poetry Contest: Summer Songs
We want your summer vibes.

Hello, dear readers and writers. As we reported almost a month ago, the iPoetry publication keeps evolving thanks to your support and collaboration.
Now, as we promised, we present to you the guidelines for our first-ever poetry contest. We are thrilled to see where this new challenge takes us.
Summer is sure to bring memories to all of us.
For some, it means vacation time. For others, maybe the warmth of the first love. Or maybe you had to move…or perhaps to you, summer equals boredom.
Whatever the case might be, we want to know.
So, for this our first contest, we ask you to write about summer. It doesn’t matter if you stray too much from the topic; just make sure to include some summer vibes.
Guidelines
- You are going to need to be a writer for iPoetry. If you aren’t, please, make sure to fill out this form; the sooner, the better (this link will take you outside of Medium, by the way).
- You can submit only one poem to the contest. Of course, you are free to keep submitting poems to us from then on. Also, if you are already a contributor but have no interest in participating in the contest, you can still send us poems on a regular basis.
- Participating poems can be submitted starting July 1st all the way through July 31st, 2021.
- When submitting, there are three mandatory tags: Poetry, Summer Songs, and your Medium name (for example, I would use ‘Gaby Rogut’). For the other two tags, choose as you please.
- Use the subtitle “Poetry Contest: Summer Songs.”
- At the end of your poem, add a box link to these guidelines.
- You can use any poetry style you prefer and make it as long as inspiration dictates. Still, bear in mind “quality, not quantity.”
- The winner will be chosen by the iPoetry Editors and will be announced on August 16th, 2021. Their decision is final.
Prizes
- There will be one winner who will receive a $100 cash prize.
- To receive the award, you must have a PayPal account. If you win but don’t have one, then the prize will be sent to the next person on the shortlist.
- We will keep a special place on the homepage for the most recent participating poems during all of July. Once the winner has been announced, we’ll keep the shortlisted poems on the homepage for the rest of August.
To keep up with the updates regarding this contest, we suggest you follow us on Twitter and Instagram, as well as our editors Lindsay Soberano-Wilson, Anthony O'Dugan, and Gaby Rogut.
If you have any questions or comments, please, leave a response or send an email to [email protected]
So, there you have it. We are very excited about this. Hope you decide to join us!
