Poetry — Conflicted

We’re society’s puppets

Take a deep breath So you can catch your breath You’ve been running so much There’s never any time left To do the things that matter most To do the things that you value most

Conflicted You got to provide You can’t let anything slide You can’t take a break No fun No rollercoaster rides Your mind keeps rocking back to forth Side to side

When the sun comes out You’re never around You’re always stuck inside You’re always looking at the god Stuck inside your world; your pod

Will you ever come out? Will you ever run out? Even when you do You never stay long Cause you’re conflicted
