I once had a toxic me in my life No one knew the real version of me I cut myself on and off And did so deliberately Jetsam then held too long The etiology – A damaged psyche The solution – The 3rd version of me

Nor flotsam, nor jetsam Nor psyche, nor debris Nor collateral damage No new versions were changing me I was taught: “Three strikes you’re out” But, “To never throw in the towel” The etiology – Can’t cure what you can’t see The solution – Selflessly, you and me
