Poetic Depth

A poem, a dream, perhaps it’s us?

Photo by Duncan Kidd on Unsplash

Poetic depth Can be as brief as Emily Can be as lower case as e.e

Poetic depth Can be as accessible as Langston Can be as free as Ferlinghetti

Poetic Depth Is Audre Is Sylvia

Short is deep Simple is deep Feeling is deep

Because it reaches It grabs It lets you go

But only after Digging in Changing you

Moving you With simplicity And with the

Voice and flow Of a friend Of a mentor

We have the spirit guides We have the soulmates We have the ones who

Never got recognized While they were alive How sad how tragic how common

Who will find our internet words Who will dig up our virtual poems Who will celebrate us after we are gone

As some sort of greats Some sort of talents Some sort of … poets

On our own Sappho’s island With our own Gertrude Salons Back and forths, collaborations, inspirations

We are these poets With roots as deep

Disguised as intertwining Wires
