You’re The Piece That Always Fits
A Short Poem Inspired by My Wife.
As I’ve gotten older, the idea that tomorrow may not come rings louder with each day. And in these moments, I think about the ones I love most. The people who are there day-in and day-out.
My wife is one of those people. She’s been my ride-or-die for well over a decade. We’ve had our ups and downs, but through it all, we became stronger.
It’s the middle of the night, and I can’t sleep. The wife and kids snore away as the sound of tiny clicks on the keyboard type away. It’s the sound of me attempting to write a poem for my wife. She’s been my rock all these years, and I wanted to display it in words. Below is a short poem I made before bed while thinking of my lovely wife.
You’re the piece that always fits, The missing part that makes me whole, A love that never quits, Completing me, body and soul.
On a compass, you’re my true north, Without you, I’d be lost, Fellow passengers on life’s journey, Braving every storm, no matter the cost.
Throughout life, you’re my safe harbor, Two lives landing on Destiny’s shore, Your smile shines like a beacon, Guiding me once more.
Here the waters are safe, For our love extends beyond the stars, Your blue eyes are the sea of love, No worries, of emotional scars.
You’re the piece that always fits.
This poem is a small tribute to my wife, the constant in my ever-changing world. She’s the harmony in my melody and the anchor in my storms. To my wife, thank you for being the piece that always fits perfectly in the puzzle of my life. Here’s to many more chapters in our story.
