Summary

The webpage features a reflective poem titled "The Journey and Goal" from the "Daily Dose of Philosophy" series, emphasizing the importance of enjoying life's journey over fixating on the end goal.

Abstract

The poem "The Journey and Goal" on the webpage delves into the philosophical notion that society often prioritizes the end goal or prize above the experiences gained during the journey to achieve it. It suggests that this focus on goals can lead to a hollow pursuit, as the true value lies in the moments and joy experienced along the way. The poem encourages readers to embrace and find happiness in the process, reminding us that time is fleeting and that the enjoyment of our experiences should be cherished more than the mere attainment of goals. The author expresses gratitude to the readers and invites them to stay tuned for more philosophical poetry.

We hold prize above all. Speed is in our minds. It matters not the journey, But the goal that we seek.

Yet prizes and goals fade. Far too easily, We forget that which we take. Our goals become hollow.

The breaths we hold are short, Our time fades quickly. Waste, not the time we’re given. Enjoyment curry’s more.

Take journeys that give joy, For journeys take time. It is better to enjoy, Time given than goals taken.

Thank you for taking the time and reading my poetry. I hope that you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for more from the Daily Dose of Philosophy.
