Summary

The text describes a transcendent experience of visiting an existential void that transforms one's earthly existence with heightened clarity and peace.

Abstract

The poem "Visiting The Void" explores a profound journey into a realm beyond existence and labels, where the narrator becomes pure observation without attachment to subject or object. This visitation brings a newfound reality to earthly life, imbuing it with skills to navigate challenges effectively and a peace that silences the conflicts of the mind. The experience liberates the narrator's actions from past pains and pleasures, allowing for a present-centered existence. The narrative touches on the struggle of integrating this transcendent knowledge into the physical world, where the self is still bound by the need to compartmentalize experiences for the sake of understanding. The transformation is described as a process towards a state of monad, where the individual's consciousness expands towards its full potential, hinting at a progression through realms of existence.

Within that void I visit beyond existence and non-existence, no names or labels I wear; I am just a condition. I am observation itself there, just watching Anthi’s personality. I’m the action; neither the object nor the subject of it. When I return, the visit brings Reality into the earthly scenery, arising clarity and skills for handling effectively the challenges. The peace of nothingness ceases the war-cannons of the earthly mind. No past memories of pains and pleasures dominate life. Anthi’s mind stops using them as the motor of her reflexes; She freely acts and reacts now, without previous complexes. The words “I” and “mine” have new content; the one she senses, but she — pulled by her body — sometimes forgets. We are one, I know and she knows that, but she still needs to cut meanings in pieces, for the earthly mind to understand. We act as a monad then for a while, but we visit that beyond-field for establishing Reality. Unexplained increase of effectiveness, resilience, durability, and peace, makes her still-struggling-“flesh” wonder for the source of this bliss. She knows, but she has more labours until the last one, the 12th, until the width of consciousness reaches its full extend. No rush, just responsibly “walking” towards that width that we’re all destined to reach before becoming the next Realm.
