Poem Inspired by: Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds — The Beatles
In a boat on a river, a journey unfolds, Of tangerine trees and marmalade skies, it beholds, A girl with kaleidoscope eyes, calls out slow, And the journey begins, to where, they don’t yet know.
Cellophane flowers, yellow and green, Towering over, a sight to be seen, Look for the girl, with the sun in her eyes, But she disappears, leaving a trail of surprise.
Follow her down, to a bridge by a fountain, Where rocking horse people, eat marshmallow pies, a mountain, Of colors, of dreams, of hopes, of fears, A world where anything goes, and everything cheers.
Suddenly, someone is there, at the turnstile, The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes, a smile, Lucy in the sky with diamonds, the song, Of a journey, of a dream, of where we belong.
In a world of imagination, where colors and dreams collide, Lucy in the sky with diamonds, takes us on a ride, Of wonder, of awe, of mystery, of bliss, And we realize, in that moment, nothing is amiss.
