Let There Be Light
God spoke everything that is into existence beginning with the phrase “Let there be” and ending with whatever He saw fit to fill the void. So where are our life-speakers, our light-seekers that confound the darkness and leave no shadows to be found?
The world is in dire need of those who wrestle with unknowing because knowledge is the nectar needed to feed the hives in our heads. The wise know that wisdom is the antithesis of ignorance but our unwillingness to acknowledge our no knowing has left us lonely with one option — to be tolerant and undecided while being intolerant of those who have chosen a side and are brave enough to stand there.
Let there be, light. Because existing is not living and addictions, afflictions, and cyclic indifference is far less than what we were meant to have.
Let there be, light; and not just any life, but a life that is abundant. Full of unbound freedom, a peace that surpasses understanding, radical compassion, illogical generosity, and all things worthy of the first adjective that God uttered — GOOD.
Let there be, light; proclaimed by those who will stand on mountaintops and speak to the dry bones in the valleys, perch on skyscrapers and shout down to those in the alleys that things are not as they should be and something greater is possible.
Our highest hopes should not be the status quo but that’s a reality the world will never know if closed mouths don’t open to break the silence.
Let there be light and let it shine with the utmost purpose and significance, lit up by deeds, and documented in history as the day that the broken were made whole, the blind were made to see, the captives set free and the beginning of the jubilee because God has given the Word and we must stand, we must live and we must speak.
Let there be, light.
