Summary

The author, a Secular(ish) Christian, urges readers to stop blaming God for human actions, emphasizing free will and personal responsibility, and advocates for a more nuanced approach to faith, understanding, and blame.

Abstract

The website content is a personal essay by a self-identified Secular(ish) Christian who implores readers to reconsider the tendency to hold God accountable for the negative actions and consequences caused by humans. The author expresses a belief in God and the Bible but stresses the importance of free will, suggesting that without it, love would not be genuine. They argue that humans, not God, should be held responsible for their choices, including those that lead to harm and suffering. The essay also touches on the author's open-minded approach to faith, which includes acceptance of other religions and practices such as yoga, herbalism, and reiki. The author encourages readers to reflect on their thoughts and actions, citing the impact of negative energy on the universe and recommending a book on healing toxic thoughts. The piece concludes with a call for healing, love, and understanding, and the author offers prayers and positive energy for readers' well-being.

Opinions

  • The author believes that God has granted humans free will, which is essential for genuine love and faith.
  • They express that it is unfair to blame God for the actions of humans, who have the ability to make their own choices.

Please stop blaming God for the actions of humankind.

How would you like to be blamed and hated for the actions of others?

Regardless of what you choose to believe, I respect that and I value your experiences in this life and I am truly terribly sorry for your pain and suffering, but can we please stop hating on and blaming God for the actions of humans?

As a Secular(ish) Christian, I do fully believe in God, the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Christ, the son. I believe in the Bible. I believe there are many ways to know, love, and understand God as well as practice your faith. I believe you have the right to accept or deny Him, to love Him or Hate him, but can we acknowledge that God is NOT to blame for everything?

As a Christian, I do believe that God granted us Free-will. Without it, how could we ever prove our love? If we were merely at His command, how is that love? Without free-will, how are we choosing Him, we aren’t and that is the point.

Because of Free-will, humans are able to make any and all choices — including really shitty ones, like hurting one another, ourselves, and this beautiful world He gave us.

I realize you may have a different point of view, perspective, experience, etc., but why so much hate and blame towards God rather than the real culprits?

Would you like to be held accountable for the horrendous actions of others in this life?

It’s bullshit, and just like how I cannot stand the ‘life isn’t fair’ mentality, I cannot stand how much we hate on one another, this world, ourselves, and our Maker.

Regardless of how you feel about God, or if there is one or many or any or … I do but I don’t care. I care about your relationship with yourself, the Sacred, this world, and with the reality of WHO you are choosing to hate and blame for anything and everything!

Can I also quickly point out the irony of those who hate on God and/or choose not to believe in him for whatever reason or at the very least are choosing not to love Him (and all of that is okay, truly, it really is. It’s your choice, including what I am ranting about, but I still need to get it off my chest and I hope you can respect that.) are the ones screaming the loudest about hating God and blaming God… intersesting? Contradictive to your beliefs in His existence, at least slightly?

Anyway, the ones you should really be hating on and blaming are the PEOPLE who caused you harm, pain, anguish, suffering, etc. NOT the supreme being, the omnipotent creator of the universe.

Not trying to make myself sound amazing here whatsoever, but I am probably one of the most open-minded and accepting Christians I have ever met in my life. I may not know a ton about other faiths, but I know some and I respect and appreciate them — heck, I still have a shit-ton to learn about my own faith and comprehension. I love, appreciate, and believe in science. I practice yoga, herbalism, reiki & energy work, meditate, etc., and I have caught a lot of flack over the years for it. I believe that those are many ways to not only know and love God but to appreciate Him and the many gifts He gave us, as well as to praise Him and have a relationship with Him.

I once again realize this may Not be what you believe or accept, and that is okay, but I feel I need to put this, and perhaps other messages out there for the world.

Next time you want to place blame and hate onto God, perhaps take a moment to re-evaluate not only the who and the why, but also the energy you put out into the universe. There is a wonderful book called How to Heal Toxic Thoughts: Simple Tools for Personal Transformation by Sandra Ingerman where she so beautifully describes how or thoughts, words, and actions have a deeper impact than we realize or can see within the dimension of the naked eye like “invisible punches”, and that the energy we give off intentionally or otherwise is “released into the room”.

It is something I try to remain conscious of and still have much to improve. Even though I am human and am incapable of perfection in any meaning of the term, situation, or circumstance, I will always try to better myself, my world, my energy, my impact, and the lives of everyone/thing I can and I try to start with my thoughts and how I show up in each moment — I fail daily, but I try and so too can you.

If you must place blame, which I fully understand and can also support, make sure it is being placed as ‘correctly’ as possible.

I pray for your healing. I pray for the world to heal. I pray for love, acceptance, tolerance, understanding, connection, peace, joy, and so much more. I pray for us all.

Sending loving healing thoughts, prayers, energy, and positivity across the globe and to you — not for you to be conformed or ‘poisoned’ if that is how you see it, but for your peace of mind, connection to and understanding of yourself as well as the spiritual presence of the world.
