Please Medium, Don’t Punish Me
For not writing often enough!

I have an excuse: I had eye surgery!
I can barely see, but what I do see is more articles about peoples’ readership falling way off because they took a break for a few weeks.
Well, I am not supposed to sit in front of a computer, staring at a screen all day, but it looks like I have no choice.
Whether it’s the all-powerful and mysterious algorithm or the fickle leanings of my “fans.” I can’t afford to take any chances with my writing career.
All hail the mighty gig economy!
Also, they gave me drugs.
So here are the basics:
I have Marfan Syndrome, which means stretchy muscles. The eye is a muscle. Stretchy eyes are not good.
So I have had maybe ten operations to replace my lenses starting around age 13 because sometimes things go wrong or they have to correct the fit or what was supposed to be a temporary solution ends up lasting 15 years.
Anyway, I find myself out of commission at an inopportune time.
The Medium machine/god demands offerings and sacrifice, who am I to refuse?
Also, I have good doctors if you have Marfan Syndrome and want to reach out. Eye surgery too.
