Please Keep Kindness In Your Heart Of Hearts Forever
Let joy and love shine as much as you can
These days, when times get tough, you may start to see people a little differently and they may act a little off.
I know I have seen it.
It’s understandable. I get it. No need for an explanation.
It’s just that kindness and joy is available to all of us, and we can share it too, but it’s getting harder to find.
But one thing is true. Every day is an opportunity to be kind to others, to not let their lack of joy affect us, and to give of ourselves at every opportunity.
Just today I was leaving an event full of people. I was walking past a table and I looked at the person sitting there, somebody that I knew well, someone I remembered chatting with on a friendly level many times before, but when she saw me she just looked down. The fun wasn’t there any more.
“Have a good evening," I said as I walked away, but she didn’t look up.
I tried not to take her interaction personally. But it’s tough.
It’s like losing a friend in school when you didn’t do anything bad to them, and then you just wonder about what is happening to cause these things. After that, all you can do is move onward and upward.
I went home and gave myself a pep talk.
“Stay positive and strong. Don’t let others take away your joy and happiness. Have kindness in your heart and compassion in your soul every day of the year.”
Then, later on, something else happened. A certain someone just ghosted me for no apparent reason.
Sure, it’s not a big deal. Maybe they have a problem with something that I did or didn’t do, and maybe they don’t want to discuss the matter directly.
“I can only do so much,” I thought to myself.
“I hope they understand that there is a lot going on these days in my world."
I looked in the mirror.
“Think positive thoughts. Show kindness in a lot of different ways.”
I know things are hard for a lot of families these days. Undoubtedly, there are lots of challenges and struggles happening to people I know, and it’s likely they will never mention them to anybody.
Often, it could be hard for someone to be the light of joy that they used to be. That’s not a problem at all, because I know they can get back there if they have the chance.
But for me, if there is a lack of loving joy or curious kindness in the country, I think that is the best time to be the most wonderful, kind, loving and compassionate person in the whole wide world. Try kindness today and see if it brightens your life and those around you.
