Is life a game?

I am not sure-

We roll through space

and still, endure.

The board is rough,

it changes with time-

my pieces get mixed

amidst all the crime.

The cheaters and lies

take over the board,

the politics and anger

fuel for the hoard.

If it is a game

that we all must play-

I will reach for the stars

with an honest array.

Saying “Sorry” my dear

is a worn-out phrase,

you seem to be hurtful

in so many ways.

If your words were of truth

as you proclaim,

“Sorry” is just once-

not a pattern of your game.

I speak of truth and grace,

made clear from the start-

Deceit and lies

have no place in my heart.

Your turn in this game is over for sure

my love for myself will always endure.
