Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself

You are now reading the home page of Wackemall.com. If you look at my about page you’ll only see the following “I’m just a retired long-haul trucker who exchanged his rig for pen, paper, and keyboard.” but there really is more to me. I’m a Roads Scholar. No, it’s not misspelled. My newest stories will be found directly below this post or you may peruse the Table of Contents.
I published my first book, CARROT ON A STICK on April 10, 2000, my son’s 22nd birthday. Sadly Jason is no longer with us, a victim of Childhood Diabetes that took him away at 32. I still miss him every day.

In 2006 I published REINDEER TALES for anyone who remains a child at heart. Other books I’ve published are no longer in print.
I was still on the road when I published CARROT ON A STICK selling copies at truck stops, loading docks, and other places as I continued to travel the country. My bosses would have been very upset had they known I was carting around hundreds of pounds of books in the cab. After all, weight is money in the trucking business. I’m retired now having been a trucker, traveling construction worker, and most recently the general manager of a privately owned recycling business here in Greensboro, North Carolina.

What you’ll read on my pages here at Medium will be my poetry, short stories, musings, novels, and the occasional rant. Some are fiction, some not, and all are inspired by my lifetime of experiences throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. One such example is The Adventurers of the Vegetable Stalker, a very novel, novel. Easily read by going to VegetableStalker.com.

Besides writing, my hobbies include building things like the world’s first StreetPlane, the Wackemall-1 as seen in this Greensboro News & Record article titled, FLYING DOWN THE STREETS OF GREENSBORO. Yes, I sometimes do strange and funny things.
I write because doing so is a cheap form of entertainment for me that opens my mind to things I’ve not before experienced. I publish out of vanity and a strange desire to share my thoughts with others.

My hobbies also include riding my antique motorcycle, building things for which I have no need, gardening, and chasing after a certain shy and brilliant female who really doesn’t understand how precious she really is. Wish me luck if you will.
Oh, by the way, that certain shy and brilliant female I mentioned recommends you follow me and get the Medium App on Google Play and/or the Apple App Store.
Finally, if you like, you can Tip me via Ko-fi, or send me a gift from my Amazon Wish List.
