Playing Games Is Hard Work

I’m exhausted but happy

On Saturday, my friend and I attended a board game Meetup. We brought some of our favorite games. Hundreds more games filled the walls of the host’s gaming room.

We stayed about 9 hours, playing five different games. No game was familiar to all players, so we held learning sessions prior to playing each game. We played two games I knew, and one I dimly recalled. I was completely unfamiliar with the other two and had to learn all the rules.

For each game, it wasn’t enough to understand the rules. I had to devise, implement, monitor, and adapt a winning strategy.

By the time we headed for home, I was super glad my friend was driving. I was exhausted, and ready to face plant. My brain was worn out.

I can’t wait to do it again.
