Playground AI Offers FREE DallE2 And Stable Diffusion Text-To-Image Generations
If you’ve been following the progress of the text-to-image AI space in recent months, you’ve probably noticed a trend: an explosion of websites offering free text-to-image generation using AI.
Today, there are dozens of websites that offer both free and paid image-generation tools. In this article, I’m going to show you one website that stands out from the competition—it’s called Playground AI.

I was skeptical at first if this feature was actually free. Currently, OpenAI offers $15 for 115 generation credits.
In this first phase of the beta, users can buy additional DALL-E credits in 115-credit increments (460 images) for $15 on top of their free monthly credits. One credit is applied each time a prompt is entered and a user hits “generate” or “variations.”
That price tag is actually a little expensive when compared to the competition like MidJourney ($10/~200 credits) and Stable Diffusion (free).
So, Playground AI offering Dall-E2 for free is pretty incredible. You can even choose to create up to four images per generation.
Automated art style prompt
Another cool feature I found is the auto-fill of text prompts according to the art style. This saves you time from learning the art of prompt engineering.
For example, you can simply type in the subject you want to create in the “Prompt” section, then select the style you want for the final result in the “Filter” menu.
After hitting generate, the tool automatically creates the prompt for you. The final image is absolutely stunning.
Free image upscaler
The fun does not stop with free image generation. Playground AI also upscales images for free! Oh man, I am beyond impressed with the features this web app has.
To upscale, just click on the “Upscale by 2X” button right below the image, like so.
The final rendered image is 4096x4096.
Your images are saved on the cloud
If you go to your profile page, you’ll see the full history of all the images you have made. They are all available in full resolution.
I wonder why Stability.AI can’t do the same with their DreamStudio. hmm.
It’s a social media for AI art
The platform is not just for generating AI images. It’s also a place to share and explore creations by other artists.
Right now, you can follow other users. Like their artwork, copy their prompts, and even remix the images.

Playground AI is by far the best free art generator web app I have tried. It’s not going to be free forever, though. From what I know, each user can make up to 1000 images each day.
