Summary

A man who lost his face in a fire finds new identities and fortune by wearing different plastic faces, until his luck runs out.

Abstract

The narrative "Plastic Face" tells the tale of a man who survives a devastating fire that takes his face but leaves him with a unique ability to change his identity. He crafts various plastic faces, allowing him to assume the roles of influential figures and enjoy the luxuries that come with such personas. His life transforms into one of wealth and adventure, with a vast collection of faces at his disposal. However, his fortunes shift when his faces are ruined, teaching a moral about the importance of one's true self and the perils of hiding behind multiple facades.

Opinions

  • The story suggests that identity is malleable and can be altered to suit one's desires or circumstances.
  • It reflects on the idea that material success and social status can be artificially attained, but such prosperity is transient.
  • The narrative implies that true destiny is not found in external appearances but within oneself, specifically "in our eyes."
  • It criticizes the notion of living a life in constant disguise, advocating for authenticity and self-acceptance.
  • The author seems to encourage writers to explore different perspectives in their writing, as indicated by the related article links provided at the end of the content.

Plastic Face

He lost his face and found his Destiny

On that terrible night, he was caught in a blaze,

It all happened in a grey and blurry haze.

He almost lost his life in that inferno,

When his home burned with an orange glow.

He survived with scars but lost his face,

He had all his memories and emotions,

But, his life disappeared without a trace.

The man without a face was lost in the world,

Till he learned to make his own plastic face,

A new face every day to take him to any place.

Plastic Face as he called himself at morn,

Changed his faces from night to dawn.

Every day he had a new face to share,

That could make him feel at home anywhere.

He wore the faces of Ministers, Tycoons and Kings,

He travelled First Class with business wings.

Plastic Face dipped into his collection,

Whenever he needed a new selection.

He had a collection of faces so rare,

That he wore without a single care.

Every new face that he wore every day,

Brought him a great fortune in every way.

Alas, the luck of Plastic Face ran out one day,

When his faces fell into a bucket of mud and clay.

If you are also a faceless being,

From your own life, you are fleeing.

Wear a plastic face every day,

Your life will change in every way.

We wear so many faces in our lives,

That we do not always realize,

Our true destiny is in our eyes.

Wear your face and wear it well,

It will your glorious destiny foretell.
