Summary

The author expresses frustration over global conflicts and emphasizes the need for compassion, peace, and unity, believing humanity should be beyond such strife.

Abstract

The article reflects on the current state of the world, particularly in light of the war in Ukraine, and contrasts it with a recent social media post by the author advocating for understanding and optimism about humanity's future. The author is disheartened by the persistence of violence and conflict, which starkly contradicts the belief that humans are inherently compassionate and peaceful. The piece calls for a genuine embrace of these values, asserting that all humans are interconnected and that the suffering of some affects the whole of humanity. The author invites readers to acknowledge this unity and to reach out if they share these sentiments.

Pissed Off About What’s Happening on the Planet Right Now!

A few weeks ago, I posted on social media that we should be more understanding of each other’s “bad behavior” because humanity is only in its infancy, and the future is bright.

Here’s the post:

Then I turn on the TV and see a Ukrainian father hug his child for what might be the last time before he heads into a war zone, and I can’t help to feel we are light years behind where we ought to be.

This can’t be the way we live and exist on the planet.

No one is born into this world violent, angry, or ever wants to hurt another!

Compassion.

Peace.

Unity.

These aren’t some esoteric ideas we just pay lip service to. Search your hearts, those qualities are all there!

And if you think this doesn’t affect you because your physical body is so far removed from where this is happening, think again! We are all one HUMAN COLOSSUS — and what affects a part of us reverberates throughout the whole.

We are one.

And it’s days like this that it’s hard to have compassion or understanding for anyone who can’t see that.
